As many of you know I like to alter things or take inexpensive or throw away item and create something special with them. This is my latest creation. I made it for my friend Missi who is getting married this coming weekend in Hawaii and then will be basking in the sun for the rest of the week on the beach. Lucky duck!!

This is what I started with....it's one of those chipboard childrens books. I took it apart as I wanted to use the heavy chipboard pages.

This is what I came up with.. I covered each pages first with whisper white card stock that I had stamped with flowers using white craft ink. Missi's wedding dress is white flowers on white so I used that for my inspiration. I stamped more flowers and embossed them with clear embossing powder, cut them out and used them through out the album. I used some metal pieces and some rub-on's also. I really enjoyed making this. This is another name frame I made for a friends new Grandson! It was very hard for me to do something boyish but was pleased with the way it turned out and I resisted from adding ribbons! I used the "Fontastic" background stamp with "Flannel" background stamp. (click on image for larger version)

Yes, I LOVE to make these name frames. This is one I made for a friends wedding.

I love using this color combination and think it looks very striking. I always make each one a little different. (click on image for larger version)

November Club

This past club night we did some glass etching! It was a lot of fun and I think everyone was amazed at how easy it was to do. I expect to be seeing some amazing creations from them! We also made this little tag to go on a nice bag of goodies to give to a neighbor or someone special. This was a technique I learned from Karen at the retreat I went too. We used tiny pieces of masking tap and applied it to a piece of card stock, then wiped it with a chocolate chip ink pad. Embossed it with clear embossing powder and it gives this wonderful faux leather look. (Click on image for larger version.)

Hello

So sorry it's been such a long time! As most of you know my sister Sally is now in Japan. I spent as much time with her as I could over the last couple of months. Sally will be gone for around 3 1/2 years but will no doubt be back to see us before then! I miss her dearly but after the last phone call from her complaining that she didn't get to see what we made in club as I hadn't updated my blog I thought I better get a move on! These are a couple of things I made her to take along to think of me. As most of you also know we always call each other "Sista" hence the name frame. The little book is made with coaster and has a poem written throughout. (Click on image for larger version.)
