Something new.

Peggy came up with the great idea for me to post all our helpful tips here. I've decided to call it Tuesday's Tips and will (with the help of you) post handy tips here each week. So email me with your tips and I'll post them each week, Thanks for the support.

Tuesday's Tips

I use those 'disposable' glad plastic containers for my Embossing Powder and glitter; I found the cheap ones don't stay closed as well. I use plastic spoons in them to sprinkle the powder onto my Card Stock. Before I put my powder into the container the first time I rub all over with my embossing buddy on the container and spoon to reduce static.

Use the brayer to evenly ink up background stamps.

To line up your lines when wheeling, start on the left side if you're right handed so you can see the last line you wheeled (vice versa for lefties). This will help tremendously. Also, if the design doesn't matter - wheel diagonally instead of straight across the page - if you're a little crooked, it's harder to notice.

If your new stamp doesn't stamp well (usually has a waxy kind of film on it), just give it a light brush across your jeans, and it will pick up the ink a lot better! This works great for those bolder and larger images if you do this first.

Those huge desk calendars the ones that basically cover the entire desk are awesome for stamping on top of. When there is too much ink on the paper just throw it away.

Check you newspaper office they sell rolls of newspaper that are *short* on paper for a great price.. When I say short on paper I mean, there is still so much there that it takes forever to use it all. Good to cover your stamping area with and great for kids to stamp on, you can even make your own gift-wrap.

Keep your bottle of Crystal Effect stored upside down, this prevents it from clogging the tip. I store mine in a cup on my desk, never had any trouble with it after that!

A small circle punch makes a cute button. Use a tiny hole punch to put "button holes" in it

3X3 Card Boulevard Swap

Well these little 3x3 cards are HOT HOT HOT right now, and we just had a swap at our last Card Boulevard team member meeting. These little cards pack a big wow and showcase some wonderful ideas!
Kim's attention to detail shows here with the punched accents! Whilst Missi's clean layout makes that ladybug (ladybird) pop! Love the little ones on the matching envie too!

You'll probably notice that mine is a smaller version of my club sample. But I can always count on Janet for something new and exciting, love this cute little card with the worms! Great use of the mini envelope template!

Margot used her Three For You punch to create this little cluster of flowers, this little card could be used for many different occasions. Another adorable (sorry no name) wedding card being served up!
Ruth amazes me with each swap she participates in. You might think this little cupcake is the stamp set called Big Bold Birthday, but noooo, Ruth made her own little cupcake using her Scallop punch and her paper crimper for the base. Sally used her punch too to create the perfect little layered tag for this adorable Birthday card.

I love how Erin used the Dazzling Diamonds to make her moon shine! Or should I say glow!! Also check out the witch in the window and the open door and window. The other card (sorry no name) would make a cute gift tag for a gift!

Punch Key ring Class

For prizes for the scavenger hunt the winner's received one of these handy little key rings. After realizing how much others would use these, I have decided to offer it as a class. Each of SU's punches have been punched on individual cards and placed in protectors,. You can hold the card over different images in the catalog to see if an image will fit the punch. I think you will find this very handy, I know I have. Details on class schedule to follow.

The following are Swap Samples.

I had these cards on display at club and will show more at the next meeting. People amaze me with their creativity! I can not believe how many stamp sets that I end up buying after seeing someones creation.

My friend Miss made me the Flower card, I love how she used the scallop punch to make these daisy's. She also used a flower from Polka Dots and Paisley to make the butterfly. Wonderful creativity! So tell the truth how many wanted the Priceless set after seeing this gorgeous card?

I love the clean look of the Baby card. The other card uses Trimtastic to make the boarders for the seed packet.

This Happy Birthday card uses the flower centers from the Pick a Petal set you make a background.

Pick a Petal Delights

Don't forget to use the large oval punch to punch the petals of the stamped petals, this makes it so easy!! I love this vellum beauty!

More Pick a Petal Delights

You will find it much easier to make the Happy Birthday card if you use the Stamp-a-ma-jig to line up those petals.

Great uses for punches.

How about using the Key Tag punch for a vase. Flowers from the Three For You Punch Box are popping up everywhere!

Adhesive embellishments

Last time we met for club I showed you how to use adhesives as embellishments. These are the sample from that evening. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact me.

Club samples

I
showed you this example of how to use the Crop-A-Dile as a dry embossing tool. All you have to do is insert you paper into the eyelets setting portion of the CAD and press together gently. Use the edge of the black setter to line up your next embossed dot.

I showed you this example using a pop up glue dot embossed with silver embossing powder.

I showed you this example using a strip of sticky strip embossed with copper embossing powder.

You all made the card using dazzling diamonds on a pop up glue dot to create the center of this card.

Remember Club is next week!

For my clubs next week, I will have a display on my Convention make and takes. A great new trick using the Crop-A-Dile, and you thought it was just for paper!
I hope to dazzle you with this monochromatic beauty, using a be-dazzled pop dot as it's center. A great little tip I learned at convention. We will be making this card in club.

Please have your answers emailed to me by Saturday evening and post your name on the blog. There will be a prize! Here you go!

This was my gift to my friends, this is Stampin' Up's! statement of the heart. I thought it fitting for convention. I really enjoyed making these.

This bracelet is from Cynthia, she also used designer papers in the tubing, great idea and can be made to match any outfit.

These bracelets were from Ruth, she used aquarium tubing and filled it with our designer papers.

This little jar is from Loni, she personalized each one for us. I didn't touch the chocolate in this one because it would show in the photo.

This was also from my Manager, inside the tin is a package of tissue and eye drops lol.

This was from my Manager, the little tin WAS filled with chocolate.

Here are some more pictures of convention as promised. These are roommate gifts I received.

This was from my upline Nicole, she also made me a great sash to wear.

Well my faithful blog watchers!

I will be heading out of town tomorrow for the rest of the week. I will take over my Mum and her husband Ross’ time-share in Wolf Creek. Alissa and a friend is already up there with Mum and I will take the little boy across the street (whom Alissa considers her Brother) with me and Mum and Ross will come home. We do this each year. Mum’s had enough after the first day really with no garden to potter around in. There is a swimming pool where we spend most of our time. No cooking! No make-up! lol. We will take our mountain hike on Thursday morning, each year going further and further up the trail. Will be taking some rubbah to play with of course. Working on some samples for club. See you all soon.

I made it home safely and just want to say I had a lovely time!!! I really enjoyed convention but the best part was walking on stage and sharing time with all my friends, including some new ones! I have some great ideas and lots of wonderful swaps to share with you!

After we arrived at our hotel in Denver and got settled in we shared gifts that we had all made for each other. I will post these at a later date, however I did want to share a special gift from my Upline Nicole. She had made me a beautiful flashing crown and sash announcing my 20 K to wear on stage. This is something I have seen done by others but not as nice as this and no one did it this year, so I was extra special!!

When we went to pick up our convention bags if we had won an award we were giving a letter to show at the awards booth. There I received my 20 K pin which I immediately pinned on my lanyard.

Here I am showing off my 20 K pin!!!

As I'm sure you can tell this years convention theme was "Dream Big" it was a perfect fit for me as I was dreaming pretty big to try to reach the sales of $20,000. But, thanks to all of you and my ever-growing room of Rubbah, my dreams came true!!

It's such great fun to be somewhere were everyone is dreaming of RUBBAH!!!!
