Something new.

Peggy came up with the great idea for me to post all our helpful tips here. I've decided to call it Tuesday's Tips and will (with the help of you) post handy tips here each week. So email me with your tips and I'll post them each week, Thanks for the support.

Tuesday's Tips

I use those 'disposable' glad plastic containers for my Embossing Powder and glitter; I found the cheap ones don't stay closed as well. I use plastic spoons in them to sprinkle the powder onto my Card Stock. Before I put my powder into the container the first time I rub all over with my embossing buddy on the container and spoon to reduce static.

Use the brayer to evenly ink up background stamps.

To line up your lines when wheeling, start on the left side if you're right handed so you can see the last line you wheeled (vice versa for lefties). This will help tremendously. Also, if the design doesn't matter - wheel diagonally instead of straight across the page - if you're a little crooked, it's harder to notice.

If your new stamp doesn't stamp well (usually has a waxy kind of film on it), just give it a light brush across your jeans, and it will pick up the ink a lot better! This works great for those bolder and larger images if you do this first.

Those huge desk calendars the ones that basically cover the entire desk are awesome for stamping on top of. When there is too much ink on the paper just throw it away.

Check you newspaper office they sell rolls of newspaper that are *short* on paper for a great price.. When I say short on paper I mean, there is still so much there that it takes forever to use it all. Good to cover your stamping area with and great for kids to stamp on, you can even make your own gift-wrap.

Keep your bottle of Crystal Effect stored upside down, this prevents it from clogging the tip. I store mine in a cup on my desk, never had any trouble with it after that!

A small circle punch makes a cute button. Use a tiny hole punch to put "button holes" in it

3X3 Card Boulevard Swap

Well these little 3x3 cards are HOT HOT HOT right now, and we just had a swap at our last Card Boulevard team member meeting. These little cards pack a big wow and showcase some wonderful ideas!
Kim's attention to detail shows here with the punched accents! Whilst Missi's clean layout makes that ladybug (ladybird) pop! Love the little ones on the matching envie too!

You'll probably notice that mine is a smaller version of my club sample. But I can always count on Janet for something new and exciting, love this cute little card with the worms! Great use of the mini envelope template!

Margot used her Three For You punch to create this little cluster of flowers, this little card could be used for many different occasions. Another adorable (sorry no name) wedding card being served up!
Ruth amazes me with each swap she participates in. You might think this little cupcake is the stamp set called Big Bold Birthday, but noooo, Ruth made her own little cupcake using her Scallop punch and her paper crimper for the base. Sally used her punch too to create the perfect little layered tag for this adorable Birthday card.

I love how Erin used the Dazzling Diamonds to make her moon shine! Or should I say glow!! Also check out the witch in the window and the open door and window. The other card (sorry no name) would make a cute gift tag for a gift!

Punch Key ring Class

For prizes for the scavenger hunt the winner's received one of these handy little key rings. After realizing how much others would use these, I have decided to offer it as a class. Each of SU's punches have been punched on individual cards and placed in protectors,. You can hold the card over different images in the catalog to see if an image will fit the punch. I think you will find this very handy, I know I have. Details on class schedule to follow.

The following are Swap Samples.

I had these cards on display at club and will show more at the next meeting. People amaze me with their creativity! I can not believe how many stamp sets that I end up buying after seeing someones creation.

My friend Miss made me the Flower card, I love how she used the scallop punch to make these daisy's. She also used a flower from Polka Dots and Paisley to make the butterfly. Wonderful creativity! So tell the truth how many wanted the Priceless set after seeing this gorgeous card?
